Bojan Nišević at the Forward conference: AI transformation in SMEs

AI is not a project “for tomorrow” – with the right process it can become a tool that delivers measurable results right away.

The Forward conference in Banja Luka (December 2025) was dedicated to “AI tools for business development in small and medium-sized enterprises”. Our director Bojan Nišević attended on behalf of Wolfinne IT, focusing on AI transformation in companies – how to introduce AI through a clear process with measurable results.

Below are short takeaways and practical guidelines that can help companies introduce AI gradually and safely.

About the Forward conference 2025

The conference brought together technology and business experts, with a focus on applying AI tools in real business processes. Special emphasis was placed on how small and medium-sized enterprises can start with AI without large investments, through smart choice of use cases and a well-structured internal organisation.

More information about the conference is available on the official website: https://forwardconf.org/

AI transformation in a company: a process, not a tool

AI transformation is not “installing a tool” but a change in the way of working: from how data is collected and used to how teams make decisions and automate routine tasks. The biggest mistake is to start too broadly. It is much better to pick one problem, run a pilot, measure the result and only then expand.

In practice, successful companies start with the processes where AI can have the fastest effect: customer support, sales, marketing, document processing and internal operations.

Where does AI deliver value fastest in small and medium-sized enterprises?

  • Customer support: faster responses, request classification, suggested solutions.
  • Sales and CRM: call summaries, preparing quotations, lead follow-up.
  • Documentation and administration: extracting data from documents, summaries, search.
  • Marketing content: ideas, drafts, tailoring messages to target groups.
  • Internal operations: report automation, “next step” recommendations, checks.

Odoo + AI in practice

In his presentation, Bojan showed Odoo as a single platform that brings together all key business processes – from sales and CRM through accounting and projects to HR and customer support. A particular focus was on how important it is to connect systems, because only then do automation and AI have a real effect.

The import / integration of AI features into Odoo was also demonstrated, where AI can help with everyday queries and faster decision-making. A practical example using the “Ask AI” option showed how AI can answer a specific business question in real time, which further speeds up team work and reduces the need for manual data checks.

Examples like this show best that AI is not a replacement for the team but a tool that helps employees get accurate information faster and focus on the tasks that add the most value.

The Wolfinne IT perspective

At Wolfinne IT we believe the best approach to AI is a pragmatic one:

first clearly define the process and the goal, then choose a tool that fits into the existing system, and only then extend its use to other parts of the business. That way AI becomes support for the team rather than extra chaos in the organisation.

Conclusion and next step

Forward 2025 showed that AI can be a big step forward for small and medium-sized enterprises – but only when it is introduced in a planned way, with clear success metrics and a well-prepared team.
